Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA has appointed a development lead for the Iberia region, as the third-party hotel management company sets its sights on further expansion across Spain and Portugal.

Troy Sullivan Marqués joins Aimbridge with the remit of identifying and progressing new hotel development opportunities in the area.

He brings with him more than a decade of experience across hospitality real estate, development and investment and, most recently, has held the role of Development Director for Staycity Group across Italy, Spain and Portugal, where he was responsible for sourcing, negotiating and delivering new aparthotel projects across the region.

Troy’s appointment builds on Aimbridge EMEA’s established presence in Iberia, where the company already manages the Four Points by Sheraton Costa Blanca, formerly the Grand Luxor Hotel & Village.

Aimbridge EMEA oversaw the property’s comprehensive rebrand and refurbishment following its takeover of operations in October 2023, transforming the 402-key resort into a Four Points-branded destination under Marriott’s global portfolio.

The appointment also comes as Aimbridge EMEA continues to expand its international portfolio, recently signing the Wyndham Grand Borjomi in Georgia, a landmark upper-upscale hotel and branded residences development scheduled to open in 2028, further strengthening Aimbridge’s growing footprint in the CIS region.

David Anderson, President at Aimbridge EMEA, said: “Strengthening our development expertise in key growth markets remains a priority for Aimbridge EMEA and Troy’s extensive experience across the Iberian region, combined with his deep understanding of local market dynamics, will play an important role as we continue to support owners and partners and grow our portfolio internationally.”
