Matt Stray of Interstate Europe Hotels & Resorts has been named as the Chairman of the IHG Owners Association’s Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) – a group created to drive innovation and modernisation within the hotel industry.
Matt, who is regional vice president of operations at Interstate Europe, has been tasked with leading the group, which is made up of hotel owners, operators and brand team members.
The ELN exists to provide a platform for a younger generations’ perspective on the industry and ensure input in critical decisions in areas such as infrastructure, sales and marketing and improved owner return on investment.
Matt said: “It’s a real honour to have been invited to become chair of the Emerging Leaders Network.
“The network provides a vital forum for the industry’s younger generation to voice their thoughts and opinions, share their experiences and ultimately, help shape the hotel industry for years to come.
“I’m looking forward to developing the group in the coming months, working with the community of owners, operators and brand teams to create new opportunities for members, enhancing both their own professional development and the ownership sector, too.”
Founded in 2012, the ELN focuses on three key areas: The future of the industry – ensuring the perspective of younger owners is voiced, personal growth and development – helping members grow their leadership profiles and skillsets, and fostering collaboration – creating opportunities for members to learn from one another, grow their businesses and build their network within the Owners Association, IHG and the wider hotel industry.
