Interstate Europe Hotels & Resorts UK division has been awarded the management contract for the Hampton by Hilton Stansted Airport hotel, set to open this summer.

The third-party hotel management firm, which currently has a managed portfolio in the UK of 69 properties, will operate the 357-bedroom hotel, located at Stansted Airport.

Set to create around 120 jobs in the area, the 8,670 m2 hotel will be among the largest Hampton by Hilton properties globally.

Nicholas Northam, managing director for the UK at Interstate Europe, said: “We’re thrilled to be operating this exciting new hotel at Stansted.

“It’s a landmark development in the globally renowned Hampton by Hilton brand and in its location at Stansted Airport, we’re confident it will prove a popular choice with both business and leisure travellers.”

The management contract is the fourth agreement Interstate has taken on this year, following a successful 2016 during which the organisation’s signed UK portfolio grew by 16 new hotels.

Newly opened hotels to date in 2017 include ibis Styles Leeds City Centre and three Scottish properties – Hampton by Hilton Dundee City Centre, Hampton by Hilton Aberdeen Airport and Hampton by Hilton Aberdeen Westhill.

Interstate Europe’s UK division has another six hotel openings planned for the coming months, in locations including London, Luton, Edinburgh and Durham.
